Margaret Chalmers
Margaret is one of our Founder Members and has been making felt for around 10 years, using the traditional wet feting method to make decorative and functional items for the home and for personal use.
Margaret produces, self supporting bowls which can be made with spikey or round openings. Each piece is unique.
Many of the structural 3D pieces are made using wool from the Masham sheep, a Yorkshire breed, which gives a strong textured felt. When a finer wool is required- for example, wearing next to the skin, an ethically sourced Merino wool is her choice.
Some pieces are monochromatic and minimalist, while others are full of colour.
Further examples of Margaret's work will be able to be seen on her website www.ffelted.com (currently under construction) .
Margaret is happy to discuss commission work with customers, and she also is happy to arrange workshops, talks to groups and school projects.
